Joan Bennet at age 18 – During the reign of film noir, Joan became the quintessential femme fatale
Joan Bennett had three distinct phases to her long and successful career, first as a winsome blonde ingenue, then as a sensuous brunette femme fatale and, finally, as a warmhearted wife/mother figure. She is best remembered for a series of highly acclaimed film noir thrillers directed by Fritz Lang, with whom she formed her own production company. But her screen career was damaged by scandal in the early 1950s, after her third husband shot and injured her agent, who he thought was having an affair with Bennett ( which she adamantly denied). Still, she managed to received an Emmy nomination for her portrayal of Elizabeth Collins Stoddard on TV’s Dark Shadows.
I just happen to adore her husky voice, wavy hair, and rich eyes. Everyone wants to be Joan Bennet at age 18. . .
